How Much Sugar?

Loving my new no sugar life!

I have gone cold Turkey 5 weeks ago and am very pleased that I am now over it after a short but hard withdrawal. I don't have any desire to eat sugar at all, and even had the strangest experience a few days ago when I "had" to eat a scoop of ice cream. No I didn't really want one but it was a group of us all having ice cream so I was feeling forced to have one, too. I haven't told anyone about me not eating sugar anymore and didn't want to appear odd. Anyway, I had one scoop of ice cream and it tasted so unbearably sweet that I hardly managed to finish it. I had a funny taste in my mouth for the rest of the day and couldn't stop drinking water as I was incredibly thirsty all the time. Weird! I certainly won't eat another one any time soon and will just have a drink instead next time. I also did this as a sort of test to find out if I will fall back right into the withdrawal when I eat sugar, but luckily I didn't.

I now wholeheartedly enjoy my new lifestyle without sugar and feel sorry for all the poor addicts around me ;-) My only problem is that I have run completely out of options when going for a drink with friends. I don't like beer or wine which means all I can drink is water, not very exciting. How do other people cope with this? Is there any brilliant sugar free drink that I haven't thought about?
