I am 62 years old and currently staying in Perth awaiting a Liver Transplant. I have been basically Sugar Free for 1st 12 months and never felt better in my whole life, Then I got crook and diagnosed with Liver Cancer and Hep C and I have been battling for 2 years. All came as a shock as I have not had any Alcohol, smokes or drugs for over 30 years.

A guy at the hospital where I go was talking to me saying he lost 40 lbs and never felt better in his life after just 5 weeks with transplant, he then said he was 51 and said well you are a lot younger and fitter than me, I had a good laugh. He is a clown though after 10 weks he decide to start drinking and smoking again and has a heart attack, I saw him while I was in again and said to him you have been given a chance at life that some will never get and you can't handle it, you are a dikhead. His mate helping him said yes he is and needs to grow up.

I have End Liver Stage with Cirrosis and extensive liver damage. Great news today for me as I started treatment of the Hep C with the New drugs for 6 months and after 30 days should I get my Transplant I will still be Hep C free for new liver. I have had the Workup twice now and my whole body is in great shape except for my liver.

I try and eat well but I have something that says I really want this and some times by the time I have struggled to the shop I dont want it anymore, my latest is shaved Silverside and once a week I have a Vanilla Milkshke with half a squirt of Vanilla. I also love a pie and indulge in a pie about once a week.

Wrapt to see all these new recipies come on here as I only had the old ones from 3 years ago.

I have been very surprised that Coke Zero and the latest diet soft drinks are said to be ok.  So many times I have watched the videos and read the articles on how bad the Drugs are in them as they have been trying for 12 years in the states to have the drug banned. Unfortunately the soft drink manufacturers pay an awful lot of money to the re election and the Parties as a whole and it has failed to be passed.

I have a wife, Daughter 11 yrs old and my only son is 24 yrs old. I lost my younger son 4.8 years ago and my Daughter has helped me to get through. Abia was 18 years old and never drank or used drugs fit as a fiddle, I actually called him Mr Ripple the last time he walked out to the van, he had been going to the gym for 3 weeks to strengthen his core and he looked great.

Enough from me I call a spade a spade and wish everyone health and happiness. Barry

Ps I am not after sympathy I like to be honest and I am grateful for every day I wake up.

Inspiring story - thank you.  I hope the liver/Hep-C  work-over is successful and that you have many happy sugar-free years ahead of you :-)
