I've been fructose free for approx 2 years now after reading Sweet Poison and then followed by That Sugar Film. It was the best thing I ever did. I lost approx 12kgs, my skin was great and had energy to burn!! However, over the past 8 months I have put on 5kgs and feel 'yuck' again!
On reflection I feel the only thing that's changed is a newfound love for coffee - good espresso coffee. I can have up to 3 a day. Does anyone know if this is a possible reason for the weight gain??? Otherwise, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what might be happening??
Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
It's a no-brainer Shannel - if you think the coffee is doing it, just stop drinking coffee!! See what happens in a few weeks. I suspect the milk they use for frothing contains sugar. The chocolate they sprinkle on top certainly does. I also suggest CAREFULLY reading the labels of all processed food you buy and keeping it below 2% "sugars" (5% for yogurt). As a last resort, keep a detailed diary of your daily fructose intake. If it's more than 10 grams, found out which foods are doing that and eliminate them. Finally, just make sure you are not eating "comfort food". If you have emotional issues which are sending you down that road - do something about them :-) Good luck . . . AND good management!
I drink coffee all the time full fat milk and sometimes I make myself an Ice coffee and this doesn't seem to affect me I have a nespresso machine
