    Hi Everyone

I successfully gave up sugar 2 years ago for about 6 months but then I let it creep back in slowly until I was once again a addict in denial. I recently went overseas and put on 4kgs and when I got back a week ago decided that it was the perfect time to give it up. So far so good, have only had a few pears and berries that are almost gone and then I will go no fruit for 3 weeks and make sure the addiction is completely gone.

Anyway I am now always looking for something to eat!! I'm not really hungry but I'm never full or satisfied, I don't remember feeling like this last time, is it normal? Do I need to execute a little self control? All I remember from 2 years ago was how fantastic I felt and how I pretty much lost interest in food & only ate when I needed to but that would have been after the 3 week period.

    Thanks

I found the first time I stopped eating sugar, it was easy, three days and I was done.  I've let it creep back in while travelling and found the addiction harder to get rid of the second time.  I just ate dextrose sweets more than usual to keep myself happy while I was withdrawing from sugar and felt I was struggling to 'just say no' to having a treat.  I think everyone is different, but I do feel sure that it's normal for your appetite control to take a while to kick in when you're withdrawing, especially the second time.  I would recommend buying some nuts or similar to snack on during this time, just to get you through it.  Have no sugar in the house, you can't eat what's not there.
