Hi Everyone - just wanted to put in writing - now 14 days without sugar.  So proud of myself - chocolate in the fridge all weekend and didn't cave in.  I realise I am not out of the woods yet - the cravings still come at times.  However this is the first time I have been able to go this long.

Changing my attitude towards the deprivation  has been very helpful.  This has not been to lose weight - it is to help my body readjust and not be a breeding ground for cancer and other things.  I just wish the mainstream media was on the same page.

Looking forward to coming back next Monday at 21 days!  love to hear some inspiring stories

22 days with no sugar!!!!!!!  I made Anzac biscuits with my 6 year old on the weekend and for the first time in my life had no desire to eat half the cookie dough!  Yes - a miracle occurred - didn't eat ANY.
Amazingly it did not seem to take any willpower - the desire (addiction) was absent.

Once I have survived three and half weeks of school holidays - I will know if the addiction has finally been beaten.  Who will reign supreme - sugar, the children or me?

I have not put the usual 2 tsp of sugar in my tea and coffee for 11 days now wow I did not realize how much comfort my cups of sugary tea gave me.I dont seem to be craving as much junk it has been really hard but have lost 1kg just from this small change it really is quite scary how something as common as sugar can have such an adverse affect on us

    Hello everyone

I'm new here and I'm wondering if there a 'good' kind of chewing gum? ie: sugar free and free of nasty sweeteners.

    Thanks

Welcome Emma ... unfortunately no, not that I've found.  Airwaves, Eclipse and Extra all contain sorbitol, which is metabolised to fructose.

Let us know if you find one!

    Cheers

    David.
