    Hi David,

I was wondering if you could tell me if Sugarine or Equal is OK. They say Sugarine has Zero calories, but what else does it have ?

I have been using this in my tea and coffee in place of sugar for a while now and it seems to be sweeter than normal sugar anyway. Can I still have it ?

    Lea,

Sugarine is saccharin and Equal is aspartame.  I wouldn't be recommending long term use of either of them, but to get you through withdrawal, they should be fine. You could also try just adding powdered dextrose to your drinks.  At the start of withdrawal that won't be terribly sweet tasting, but by the end it should taste roughly the way you remember sugar tasting.

    Cheers

    David.
