    Hi David

First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to you for taking the time to research and write the books you have published thus far especially with 6 children and no doubt a busy work life. (Thanks to your wife as well).  I'm four weeks in and my husband around 3 weeks and it is something we will stick to for life.  Could you tell me if it's ok to use the following products - Campbells Stock (chicken, beef, vegetable),packet chicken noodle soup & french onion soup and tomato paste.  I use the stock and soup when making my own soup and also I'd like to use the paste to make pizza?  Also if the perecentage is low in a product say 1% or 2.5g per 100g even though it says sucrose or the other stuff you mention has been added is it still ok to use?  I'm use to making things and adding packet stuff for seasoning any other ideas for this?

    Hi Michelle,

By looking at the NIPs (can't seem to find any ingredient lists), campbells chicken stock seems fine, it's about 1.2g sugar per 100mls.  Regarding the Soup packets, they both contrain maltodextrin which is on Davids good list and are about .6g sugar per 100g which is quite good.  Although all 3 products do contain sugar (I'm guessing the Campbells stock would as well), it doesn't seem too much at all and would still be OK to have (although it could be a problem is you consume a whole packet of soup or the whole carton of stock however I have a feeling I don't think that would happen lol).  As for the tomato paste, that is perfectly fine and any sugar content (as long as sugar isn't listed in the ingredients) would be from the tomatoes.  I buy the leggos pizza squeezy sauce (doesn't have sugar in the list).
