could someone please help me with which bread milk and yogharts are the best. I do have a book but would really like it explained to me. Full cream and light mild both seem to have 4.9g per 100g. Would I be better off on almond milk. Is yoghart under 3% or 5% per 100g.
    Thanks, cathy

Any yoghurt and milk should be fine as long as it's natural yoghurt and full cream milk.  As long as there is no sugar in the ingredient list.  The sugars listed under milk and yoghurt are lactose and is perfectly safe.  Bread can be quite tricky, and most of the bread on the market will have sugar listed in the ingredients.  I find that the freshly baked bread (either from coles/woolies or best yet from the bakery) is the best because it's got the lessest amount of sugar.

Hi there, I eat sour dough rye. You can get one at Safeway that is 0.1% sugar. David recommends sour dough or one of the Bergens loaves. I'm not sure which one. It is either in "Sweet Poison" or "big Fat Lies"

Hi, just sticking my nose in 'cos I eat the rye DG recommends and it's delicious! It's Burgen Rye & contains about 1.5g per 100g and none of the sugar is added as in its not on the ingredient list so clearly comes from the grains it's made with therefore packs a tone of fibre. It's also easy to find in any supermarket with the rest f the commercially made breads. Enjoy :-)

I actually saw this in Woolies not a couple of weeks ago.  The plain variety is fine however the flavours one like strawberry and blueberry does contain sugar, the sugar is not in the yoghurt however it's in the strawberry flavour sauce. The amount of sugar would be very low, and my daughter seemed to really like it.
