It has been 2 years next month since I started my sugar free way of life. During that time my cholesterol readings have gone through the roof. Even after all this time of eating full fat everything, I still feel concerned if I am doing the right thing. I don't have a problem with anything else but I just cant get my cholesterol levels down. Everything else is fine, perfect blood pressure, not over weight, sugar is good, but its just the cholesterol. The "good level has improved but the "bad" is getting higher and higher.
My Dr. has reached for the script pad and basically told me that she is advising me to take the tablets (statins) but it is my choice. I must admit, as much as I don't want to go that that track, I am getting a bit nervous to say the least.
I realize no one can advise me on this decision but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem while on this sugar free journey.
The only other possibility is that maybe I am eating too much of the full fat products. I eat a lot of nuts also. And I do like to bake etc. etc. Also maybe I need to exercise more although I do walk 3 to 4 times a week. Just feeling a bit disheartened and unsure at the moment.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)
Cheers
Lynn
