There is no Aldi here in Darwin, however, my father just called me to say he had bought me an ice cream maker from Aldi in Shepparton. It apparently makes 1.5l per batch and is on special for $29. If you need one of these and live near an Aldi, it could be a good Chrissy present.

    Thanks David

I got one yesterday and just made my first batch.  All I used was cream and fresh strawberries.  It taste good but now have to make sure I don't eat too much.  I also got rockmelon at the markets so thats my next trial.  With the nice fruit I just leave out the sugar.   Passionfruit would be nice and I might try the toffee from the toffee corn.

It is so easy to use.  Just freeze bowl for 8 hours then put everything in and let it mix for 30 minutes and thats done.

IT BROKE on the third use. So did my friends.  Maybe for the best as I have put on weight with all the fruit in it.  I suppose the novelty would wear off and you would use it only on special occasions.  Well back to Aldi tomorrow to return it.
