I have been sugar free now for about 6 weeks and I've lost 4kgs.  The reason I haven't lost as much weight perhaps as some is because I am now eating all the foods I but have gone without for too long, like pasta and bread.  When I look around me at all the people who are on a diet yet haven't seen the elephant in the room called sugar.  I just want to go over to them and shout don't drink that skinny latte, or have that low fat yogurt, they are just making you fatter. Most of all I wish there was a way to get this news out to more people, so I shared David's interview on my face book page, and i got some really positive feedback.  If we reformed sugarholics don't have a facebook page perhaps we should start one!!! Try using this forum with your friends and see what the response is.

Good on you Ray, for telling others about sugar. Your 4 kg loss is actually really great! "healthy weight loss" is listed by dieticians and doctors as 0.5kg per week- on average: which means that some weeks there may be a gain, or no loss, but if you record it on a list or graph, it works out to be around 0.5 per week.

That means your 6 week should have got you about 3 kg lost. So, you did better than that. Let us know what other changes you've made which have helped you- like substitutes for sugar.
