    Does rum have sugar?

Some say it is distilled out and contains no sugar, others say it is flavoured with molasses and contains lots of sugar.

    does anyone know?

Hi. Working in the hotel/pub industry over 25 years, we seemed to have trouble with Rum (ESP Bundy) and Southern Comfort drinkers, and it was often said it was because of the high sugar content in them. Southern Comfort is made from peach kernels...ugh!!!

From what I have read of Davids work, Bundy is okay, the 'sugar' is fermented in the process and converted to alcohol, and if fine for us non-sugar people...hic.... I am a BIG fan of the Bundy Bare cans (no sugar)- they even have a nutrition label and sugar is '0'- yay.....burp.....hic.....enjoy...zzzzzzzz!!!

I am a fellow Bundy fan myself and I have read on the free forum that David has given it the OK.  The sugar has been fermented to make alcohol, it's usually the mixers that are the problem.
