Christmas Treats

    I am keen to find some suggestions for Christmas food treats.Any suggestions for puddings/cakes which do not exceed recommeded daily sugar intake.This will be our first Christmas sugar free,keen for suggestions/ideas on how others manage. Thanks.

    Also if you have a look back in the recipes chat page, I think there are some rum balls and also a recipe for North American Macaroons, I've made both with great success. Yum-O
    Page 5 for the Christmas Rum balls

    North American Macaroons
    2 eggs whisked
    3/4 cup dextrose
    2 cups coconut
    1.5 teaspoons vanilla essence
    pinch salt
    Preheat oven to 180 C
    mix all ingredients together
    roll/squish together teaspoonful of mixture into balls
    place on tray lined with baking paper
    flatten slightly and bake for 15-20mins or until golden

    This is the rough draft, cant remember where I got it now. Mine got a little too dark on the bottom, but didn't bother my tastebuds. Good luck and Happy Fructose Free Christmas to you.
