It is "choko time".....and as young ones mostly do not know what to do with them or just do not like them...sometimes before they have even tried them...I decided to experiment so this is what I came up with.My son had a vine and they were just going to waste.

First I made pumpkin soup and where I usually put a couple of potatoes and a carrot in I did the carrots and about 3 chokos to 1/2 a pumpkin...so that is just a hint on how to use them up...nothing to do with sugar.Very economical and will freeze well.

However I then cooked 5 chokos sliced very thinly and put that on with a little water to start cooking ...then added 2 grannysmith apples, a few cloves about 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg and 3 heaped dessertspoons of glucose powder.I let this boil and then turned right down and let it simmer till very soft and then gave it a whizz in blender. It needed another spoonfull of glucose.
Good way to use up the chokos and no added sugar and you could not tell the difference from just stewed apple.

    Hi Carol

That sounds scrumptious. I must try it. Thank you for sharing the recipe
