Im about to on monday have the Lap Band put in.

Reading Sweet Poison at this time was good timing.

My Docter recomended not eating high energy liquids and foods anymore.

I gave up sugar a week ago but think the first week after the opperation on clear liquids may mean ill have to start not eating sugar after a few weeks after the opp.

V8 juice and water for first week.

Hi, good luck with the lap band......I think you should check how much sugar in the V8 juice....I bought some early  last year, & wished I hadn't......

If I had found Sweet Poison & had a pending lap band op, I think I would have postponed it....

I lost 19 kilos over 13 months, but If I had discovered Leptin Reset, I think I would have been better off, if you are down to doing drastic things, then LR is the way to go....I mean, if you're gonna go to all that trouble, you must be desperate enough to do LR, and the results, according to the anecdotal evidence on the site are well worth considering.

Check out the thread over on Sweet Poison forum....there is a 20 odd page forum devoted to this topic, called, Hard to lose weight - How about Leptin?  Link here :-

    http://sweetpoison.myfreeforum.org/ftopic2195-0-asc-0.php

This is the link to page one of the Thread.....

I wish you all the best on your new way of life....Low fructose is definitely not a diet, but a way of life....

    Any questions, ask away....
    Love

Ive lost 6.7kg in the first 7 Days down from 162 to 155.3

Mushroom and potato soup, Home made

    Chicken soup, Home made

    Milk

    Some V8 Juice

Anything liquid thorugh a straw for 4 weeks and then slightly more solid foods

I am a man built with a large frame, I carry my weight well, But have a large tummy and am generlly  Obease. At 162kg I walk slowly and who can find nice cloaths to wear at my size.

I would like to be 90kg, I would like to RUN, go hiking again, Ive done the Overlander Track here in Tasmania Australia http://www.parks.tas.gov.au/index.aspx?base=1253  3 times and then got too fat for my waterproof cloathing, I would like to do the walk again with my wife 5 days 70km through the most beautiful bush.

My moods are more level without eating sugar too.

    Hey Sean,

Just read your post, and am barracking for you all the way.  Today is my first day on giving up the dreaded fructose,  my first cup of coffee without two sugars and off the skim milk, and back on the full cream milk.

I have been obese , said it for the first time, usually say overweight, but time to call a spade a spade,  weighed in at 106 kg this morning, ( thought if your brave enough to tell everyone , so can I  )  not overly concerned about the scales will weigh in once a week, but tired of feeling 107 when I am 47.

    Kindest Regards Dee

i think its important too to use the same scales for weighng yourself, not your friends or a PUBLIC fancy digital scale

I found my inlaws scales to be 2 kg diferent

And public scales was more than 8kg diferent

I thought there was ...weights and measurement standards

By the way Im 43 at 180cm at my upper normal range I should be 90kg... thats my goal.

Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time every time you weigh yourself, it's best to way first thing in the morning just after you get up because when you start eating it alters your weight.  Weigh yourself on the same set of scales (none of them are ever accurate, our house I think is on a slant or something because I can weigh myself one part of the house and weigh 80kgs, I'll then take the scales to another part of the house and I'll literally weigh 75kgs).  Best yet ditch the scales and go by waist measurements.  Don't weigh or measure yourself more then once a week.  If your on a liquid diet, make your own soups, you can even make your own shakes by wizzing up strawberries, milk or coconut milk (coconut milk for a low carb choice) and full fat natural greek yoghurt.  I'd be steering clear of the juice and going for home made shakes instead. You could even go a step further and buy some natural whey protein and have your own protein shakes.

Hey Sean.  You're my age and a bit shorter than me.  90 kg is in the accepted weigh range ? My doctor keeps telling me I need to be 82kg.  I am 90 kg now, I lost 10 kg in my first month sugar free.  I agree with what others said, a scale is a piece of machinery, it can stop working, weights and measures standards involve shops and so on getting their scales recalibrated regularly.  But, if you use the same scales all the time, you'll know how much you're losing, even if your actual number is not 100% accurate.  I also found that our scales show different values when the room is cold or warm, and if they dont sit evenly on just one tile, at first I thought my weight was all over the place, but it was always on the way down.

I do agree that I suspect you'll find the gastic band was not needed, but it sure can't hurt, either way it sounds like you're doing really well.  I'm cheering you on !!!
