Hi Debra welcome aboard the sugar free train,

I have been sugar free for seventeen days now, and am feeling pretty good, my hunger has really dropped and I'm starting to not crave for sugar.  I have lost half a kilo in that time but feel as though I have lost alot more than that, haven't got the bursting with energy feeling that some folks have as yet but I am waiting for it patiently.  This is something that I feel that I can really stick to, I am not having any real problems at all, and from other peoples comments it's all very exciting, can't wait to see how I feel and look after the first month.  I wish you all the best wishes for your journey with all of us.

    Lauren.

Hi Deb, I've just started day 5, still going through withdrawals but not as bad as the first couple of days. I mostly had a persistent, vague gnawing feeling of wanting something but not knowing what (you know, the stand at the cupboard but not making up your mind what you want kind). At times it got really strong so I would find something to occupy my mind, kind of like what I did when I gave up smoking. It helps if you can get rid of every sugar based product you have in your home so you aren't tempted. Yesterday I was hanging out so much for something sweet, I made some vanilla muffins with dextrose and a few sachets of splenda to make up for the sweet feeling til I have sugar completely out of my system. Worked a treat, so I'd strongly suggest having sugar craving busters on hand. Good luck with your journey. Michelle
