dextrose vs glucose

    My research tells me that these are the same
    product - they seem to have the same chemical make up - is this correct? If not what is the difference and which is the better for you.

    Neither are GOOD for you, but they are less bad than fructose. They are still empty calories nutrient wise, so I'd take care adding them in any quantity to my diet. Party food. 

    My son who is studying bio-chem at uni explained the subtle molecular difference between dextrose and glucose, which I can't regurgitate, except to say there is a small difference. In our bodies maybe it's effect is much the same?

    good advice Julie! - I'd only add that dextrose is actually dextrose monohydrate which means it is one molecule of glucose joined to a molecule of water ... the extra water won't do any damage - for intents and purposes, they are identical.
