I was in Woolworths yesterday and picked up a new ancient grain product in the rice section of the supermarket. It is a grain mix that contains: brown rice, white basmati, buckwheat, red basmati, black rice, white quinoa, red millet and black seseme seeds. It only has 0.7g sugar per 100g.

Once cooked it has a beautiful nutty flavour and texture. I mixed it with pumpkin, eggplant, spinich, lamb, onion, garlic and stock. It created a lovely risotto like dish - perfect for autumn or winter!

Sounds great!  What brand is it - might help me find it in my local supermarket too.

    Thanks!

Sorry about that ... I've just realised that I forgot to mention the name in my post.

Name on the pack is Gluten Free "Rice Plus". I'm not to sure who makes it, but I think you can only get it at Woolworths.

There is some info about it on the following site: www.thefoodcoach.com.au/news/?ArticleID=1231

    Cheers

    Alex
