Hi, Marilyn, I guess it depends on how much it costs. I have Cadbury's cocoa (no sugar) prepared in much the way as Sandra described, but with some full fat cream in!! I also use Natvia as a sweetener in my coffee and in my cocoa. I have my cocoa late, about an hour before bedtime with a piece of cheese, and I sleep like a baby. I have 1 sachet of Natvia in it and find that's sweet enough.
Natvia is Stevia, developed especially for coffee. Stevia is extracted from a plant, and as long as it's extracted correctly, with no nasty additives, then it's about the best sweetener you can have. The other one is Xylitol, which is very good for your teeth. It's quite expensive, though, but it's on David's 'your call' list.
If you can, I'd grow a Stevia plant, if you ever get the opportunity, especially if you drink tea, or I guess you can just add it to your drink, one leaf at a time, to get the desired effect. (!)
It's the latest 'natural' sweetener, no doubt someone will find another plant to replace it in the future.
