I tried to get dextrose at a very large Coles store but could not find it.  I did however find a prodent called 'Natvia the 100% Natural Sweetener'.  I surreptitiously photographed to pack and the nutritional info but cannot work out how to attach the photo here.  However the nut info panel said:
    CARBOHYDRATES - 0.2gr/ 3gr AVERAGE SERVE 5gr/ 100gr (avr)
    SUGARS - 0gr/ 3gr AVERAGE SERVE 0gr/ 100gr (avr)

What is this stuff and is it for real.
I also saw 100% 'Fruit Sugar' labelled Fructose - which I guess is true but why would they sell it?

While watching the feature on Peter Fitzsimons I noticed a woman using  Natvia the 100% Natural Sweetener so perhaps I should give it a go.  The only really thing I miss sugar with is my porridge in the mornings.  I wonder if you could make marmalade with it - each year my citrus tree bear lots of fruit and that is what I do with it.

I believe Natvia is a blend of Stevia with Erythritol which is both on David's your call list.

I bought some yesterday to have on my porridge but it's too sweet.  Today up put some frozen raspberries into the oats instead - much nicer.  I'll keep the Natvia for baking though.

I use it just in my cups of tea in a sachet form as it is very expensive to cook with. Better off getting glucose powder.

Look for dextrose in the beer making section in Coles or Woolies.

Hi, Ruth, you can get the dextrose powder (Brigalow Brand) in Big W, home brew section. For porridge, buy some Rice Malt syrup from Coles, (Health food aisle). It's yummy. I like to put a little muesli on top & a small dollop of cream, full fat. Or coconut milk/cream. I buy Macro Untoasted muesli, fruit free, from Woolies, cereal section. Only 1.6 grams of sugar per 100 grams of product. Just makes the porridge last longer!! Save the Natvia for your coffee, it was developed as a coffee sweetener. For my tea & cocoa I use Hermesetas brand Stevia tabs. The Equal Stevia has a funny taste, but the Hermesetas one is nice.
I remember seeing fructose sugar in the supermarket when I first started, I was amazed....and asked the same question.
Good luck, any more questions, just ask...
    Sylvia xx

I have porridge in the morning with a chopped pear with skin still on, then two large spoonfuls of natural full fat yoghurt. Absolutely delicious. However, I have never felt the need to put sugar on porridge, given my British heritage where the topping was salt. Not that I ever used it. The yoghurt tho tart is a treat, just like cream, which I have falsely denied myself for as long as I can remember. I save my second piece of fruit ( if I can be bothered to eat it) until late in the afternoon with a handfull of nuts.

If you can't fing Dextrose in the supermarket. Most brewery supply shops sell it for around $2.50-$3 kg. Or if you have enough people to share it around, it costs about $50 for 25kg, $2 per kg (remember how light it is, 25kg is alot).

I have found it lasts in airtight containers as well so it will be a long time before we need to rebuy it. I have gone from a double sweet tooth to a savory lover.
