The story I pestered you all about ran last night - I only found out about it just before it ran so sorry for the lack of warning - but you can see it online at http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8228355

In the end they decided they didn't want to interview anyone, but I am sincerely grateful to the folks who volunteered to leap in front of the camera - it was a very humbling experience to read the dozens of tales about how the sugarfree message has changed so many lives.  I really appreciate you taking the time to share your stories with me.  And for those of you who really really wanted to be on the teev ... don't worry, I'm sure you'll get a chance :-)

    Cheers

    David.

It was good to see the show David.

But, actually, Sushi rice contains quite a lot of sugar. We used to make sushi at home and the recipe calls for sugar and rice vinegar in the rice itself. I think the sugar and vinegar help the rice to clump together better. We didn't use the sauces to dip them in either. Just a little Kikoman soy sauce which we liked because it is naturally brewed. (I now know it also contains very little sugar)

I used to wonder, when we ate sushi, why I would go on and on eating it until I was way over full and then immediately go for the sweets. I always ended up with severe indigestion after a sushi meal!!! Now, of course, after reading your book, I know why. This happened with both our home made sushi and shop bought sushi.

You can see this recipe for making sushi rice here. It contains half a cup of sugar to three cups of rice:
