Hi everybody.  I thought you's like to read this stuff I received in an e-mail, there wasn't a link to the research, the only link was to buy the book. So I saved the text & am showing it here.  It's about sucralose (Splenda) & aspartame.

    Hello,

I'm Michael Lovitch, one of the co-founders of The Hypnosis  Network.
I answer almost all the questions that come into our site, and we get lots of them!
I really hope you are enjoying Dr. Temes' e-book - the tips have helped me personally, and have opened my eyes to how living in Western society makes it really difficult to consume reasonable portions.
One tip that unfortunately did not make it in the book was
some recent news about Splenda. Turns out that a Duke University study in September of 2008 hows that Splenda:
    * Reduces the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50%.
    * Increases the pH level in the intestines.
    * Contributes to increases in body weight.
    * And affects the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in the body in such a
way that crucial health-related drugs could be rejected.
This is really scary stuff. As you know, almost all low-calorie soda contains sucralose or aspartame (which is also not something you want to put into your body). **Staying Away from Soda** In Dr. Temes' hypnosis program, there are actual suggestions that you will not crave soda, and desire water instead. She didn't know about the new research at the time, but there were already indications that even low-calorie sodas were detrimental to weight control.
The idea that artificial sweeteners contribute to weight gain has now been confirmed by multiple studies performed in 2007 and 2008.
So it's a good idea to stick to water and unsweetened tea
as your beverages of choice if you want to lose some
pounds. Wouldn't it be nice if you actually craved water, instead
    of sodas and juices?
    **Hypnosis, Dr. Temes, and Credibility**
Dr. Temes is usually ahead of the curve, because she's on
the Department of Psychiatry at the SUNY Health Science
Center Medical School. So everything she does is based on
    research and not "pop" psychology.
What you might not know about Dr. Temes is that she is
considered one of the top authorities in the world in the
use of medical hypnosis. She is actually the editor of
Medical Hypnosis, the first hypnosis textbook used in
    medical schools.

I guessed you all didn't want to read more stuff about the hypnosis book. So I stopped here.

Anyone who's interested, I can forward the e-mail, or give you their e-mail address.

Good luck with it all, folks.
    Spread the Love
