From what I have read of it, it is the Atkins diet revamped.
Atkins never promoted using sugar, but it did fat like bacon and eggs for example, and cutting back on carbohydrates.
People did lose weight on this but I don't know anyone who continued.
To see if you were burning off fat you would test your urine for ketones. When the litmus paper turned purple you were losing weight.
The thing is you don't have to BUY special foods like the Keto diet recommends.
You need David to say if he approves of this, but in the meantime read up on Atkins.
As David says, the fat in your diet doesn't matter. When your appetite-control system is working properly you will not want to eat more fat (or anything else) than your body requires at that time. You can, of course, override your appetite-control system, e.g. with "comfort food". But that would be a psychological problem which would need counselling to resolve. As long as you keep fructose to a minimum you will not be able to eat more than you need.
I don't need to read up on Atkins as my weight is under control and I feel satiated at every meal.
