I have just become a member today and haven't even started but I have been reading the book and it is pretty scary what fructose can do to your body.  But is it really that easy, just don't eat it if it tastes sweet?   Is that all you do to get started, does taking fructose out of your diet really do that much and you loose those added kgs to boot.  Anyway I will let you know how I go and would love to hear how everyone else is doing.

    Hi Jennifer

I am only in week 2 so still in the withdrawal phase I guess.  I have been replacing my urge for sugar with coffee made with real cream - although I am trying to wean myself off this now.  It sounds crazy but I can't stand artificial sweeteners and also don't drink softdrinks so Coke Zero wasn't going to do it for me!

I haven't lost any weight yet, haven't gained any despite all the cream either!  I do feel more in control of my appetite most of the time and feel a bit healthier.  I am assuming the real weight-loss will happen post-withdrawal.

Remember - it isn't sweet that is the main problem, it is fructose so sweet can be ok depending on its source.  Can't believe how sweet bananas have become after such a short break from sugar.

    Janet
