I heard David on the radio recently, and thought it such a fascinating interview.  Coincidentally I had been on a complete sugar ban for about 3 weeks when I heard it, but it was part of a complicated low carb/no bad carb diet.  That diet was tremendous for losing body fat, but it really isn't a sustainable way of eating, and 3 weeks was about my limit.

Now I've moved straight onto David's no fructose way of eating instead, and I'm enjoying a much more varied diet.  I realise I pretty much have to make everything I eat myself, but at least know exactly what's in it.  I have a bit of help in that area as I own a Thermomix, which is a wonderful kitchen gadget that makes it a lot easier to make a whole bunch of things from scratch.

Having gone without sugar, I have lost the taste for it, and I'm not in the least bit tempted.  I'm looking into dextrose and xylitol, but really, I hope not to indulge in the alternatives too much, either.

Oh, meant to add that I'm hypoglycaemic.  I used to eat sugar free as a child, but really lost the plot as an adult.  I finally have it under control again after all these years.
