I am 57 and now weigh 101 kgs.I am a Nursing sister and know the dangers from obesity.I only received my book yesterday and because I dont get home from work til midnight I sat up reading until 2am. Ihave been overweight all of my life, putting on more weight every time I stopped dieting but eating low fat food. The same story as many others.

Hi Ronita, welcome. Your story sounds very similar to mine. I'm 105kg now and have been sugar free for 8 days. I think I lost the usual 2 kilos of water retention in that time, but feel so much better for it. Hope you find it works for you. Michelle

Hi Ronita and Michelle, I am also a very overweight nursing sister and should know better.  Just because we have the knowledge, it doesn't mean that we are infallable.  I only started today and very excited about this.  Good luck to all.

    Hello all,

Welcome to the world of kicking the sugar habit, I have been on this for a few weeks now and am really loving it, don't feel like I am on a "diet" at all and love the views and information other people share.  Have been a member of Weight Watchers for yonks and the meetings were good but you would go there, sit and listen to the speaker then go home, no interaction with other members (I am a shy person and not one for speaking up) so find this way of communicating great.

I have read both of David's books twice and find them inspirational.

    Best of luck people.

    Margaret
