Hi, I just signed up today, after being on the Sweet Poison forum since Oct 10 2010. I started the full on sugar free thing in the 2nd week of Sept, & have lost 6.6 kilos, but am stalled & have put back on 2 kilos. After reading some of the info, I reckon I will lose these 2 kilos now and more. I want to lose 41 kg, but am doing it in 10 kilo chunks. Was hoping to lose another 5 kilos by Xmas, but will have to starve myself to do that. Obviously am still in withdrawal, as I am still feeling hungry. The only time I don't feel hungry is when I'm on the computer, doing research/writing on forums.  Started 5 days ago to try wheat free. forgot after day 2 & had Pizza, (my excuse, I'm old!). But am back on it, but it's been a challenge, as my partner has been nagging me to eat the lefftover pizza, even getting upset that it might be thrown away! After eventually realising that I am dedicated, he ate it all himself, about 5 slices!! I must say that even tho' he's got TimTams, mini Crunchies and a box of Roses chocs, (a pressie), in the fridge, I haven't been craving chocolate. That feels good.
I weaned myself off the drinks thing about 2 years ago, and can validate everything David went thru'. I was buying the 'diet' type of lemon/orange sodas, and the occasional lemonade/Pepsi Max, then realised that the Pepsi Max tasted metallic, so substituted water more & more & let my partner drink the rest, until I was off it completely. An occasional glass, about once every 2 or 3 months was all I had, now won't even do that. I find water is best for the thirst quench anyway.
I still need to excercise, tho', when I stop walking, my weight loss slows down. Must get back into it. Being retired, it's easy to just sit at the computer/watch TV all day.
Good Luck with the weight loss everyone, glad I'm not poisoning myself anymore.

    Welcome Sylvia.

I admire your fortitude. My DH is often my downfall - or so I tell myself.  ;-)

    Regards
