5 years ago, my family went failsafe (low chemical diet for health and behavioural reasons) which worked brilliantly for us :) Particularly my middle 2, who were failure to thrive (not medically, I didn't need a doctor to tell me they weren't growing ;) ). My 4th was born and within a week had a nappy rash to beat all (she even has a scar from it) and as the middle two were already cows' milk protein intolerant, it didn't take me long to work out she was reacting to something in my diet. Wheat as it turns out, and then soon after, removing wheat from the diet of the middle two let them grow.

So I was already on the path of depriving my children, er I mean feeding them healthy food that was wholesome and nutritious. Fast forward to January and someone told me about Sweet Poison.

I was very lucky because I didn't suffer any withdrawals - I'd already gone through those with failsafe. No guesses what I craved during the first weeks of failsafe ;)  I found it incredibly easy to stop eating sugar. Not so easy to stop eating carbs though. Initially I lost 100g a week for several weeks then plateaued, so now I'm low carb as well. I'm going to be one very healthy (though not very fit) old lady one day ;)
