Hi, my name is Liz and have always struggled with maintaining my weight my whole adult life.  I have lost weight successfully many times on the Jenny Craig diet, but the weight ALWAYS creeps back on after about 12 months.  Story of my life :-((.  Anyway, I was very excited when I read David's articles about fructose (my husband has been trying to tell me this info for ages!) and I'm hoping this will cure my yo yo weight gain/loss forever.  I love chocolate, cakes, biscuits etc and I know this is going to be hard, but I'm determined to eradicate fructose from my diet.  My hubby is doing the same so that helps.  I'm only up to day 5 and its going well so far, I had some withdrawal headaches for a couple of days, but they seem to have gone now.  I can't believe how satisfied I feel all the time, I used to have to eat every couple of hours, now I can go for ages and not eat.  Thanks David for sharing your knowledge about this evil substance!

Welcome, Liz. You sound something like I used to be.  Love your name....bet you get all kinds of 'Royal Family' jokes, eh?

I feel that together, you will do well. Just remember there's lots of support on this forum & the Sweet Poison forum for you guys.

My tips, keep your mind & hands busy!!!  Make your snacks healthy, fructose free ones. Make a short term goal, plus a long term goal, & keep your eye firmly on those goals. Don't think back to how it was, only how it will be. Good luck.

Looking forward to following your successful journey, Yay, you can do it!!

Hi again, well I'm now up to day 32 and I'm going really well on my new sugar free diet. I feel much healthier, enjoying my food much more and even though I haven't lost any weight on the scales, I'm fitting into clothes which I haven't been able to wear for a long time!!  I don't have the bloated tummy anymore and I generally feel smaller.  I'm not really overweight anyway (162cm and 61 kgs).  My pallette has really changed eg. I can drink warm milk without any chocolate or vanilla added!!  That's a first for me!  I don't have any sugar cravings anymore either which is great.  I just wish I could convince my 20 year old son to cut the sugar, but that's proving to be a problem..... oh well.

    Liz
