I had a lot of weight to lost, have lost 14 kilos so far, had my ups & downs, will be 12 months fructose free in 2 weeks time, can't believe I've been on this for that long. Time has gone so fast.
the main benefit for me has been increased mobility, (I was out gardening last week), and not feeling so hungry. For most of my adult life, I have been hungry, not any more. I do miss my bread though, I used to eat at least 4 - 6 slices per day, now down to 1, sometimes 2. Second best thing I ever did in my life, 1st was give up smoking.
I wish you well on your journey, any questions, you will get lots of help here, and over on the Sweet Poison
    forum.

    Good Luck

Thank you so much Sylvia.  I am battling on, missing fruit a lot, otherwise doing well.  Only lost 1 kilo in 2 weeks, but I think I'm eating too much bread.  2 slices for breakfast or 2 crumpets for breakfast.  I guess I'll have to be strong and give these up too and go onto porridge or eggs etc., but I do so love bread and I always get the "right" type, i.e. less than 3g sugar for 100 g. :((  Kathy

Hey, Kathy, I did 'up' my carbs when I first started, as I was sooo hungry, but as I got further in, my appetite control kicked in (albeit slowly), and once I started changing my brekky to only 1 slice of bread, changed from white rice to brown, and white pasta to brown, and cutting back on potatoes, did I really start to lose properly, slow is best, as just think back to how long it took to put it on in the first place!!  After being stuck at 14 kilos down, I've got my appetite under such control, that I can now do the Jack Kruse leptin re-set regime, in which you eat only every 5 hours, ie brekky, 5 hours later, lunch, 5 hours later, dinner etc & nothing before sleep, (after dinner). I do, however miss my snack nuts after dinner, plus cheese, I would have cheese in my omelettes etc, and a small piece about a half hour before bedtime, with some hot cocoa, all milk. But when I started this new way, I lost 3 kilos in 5 days. So I know what to do now, this is a way of life for the next 6 - 8 weeks, and I hope to lose at least 8 kilos by the end of it.
Are you doing any exercise? If not, just try walking, as this will help rid you of any belly fat.
This is how you should look at this Fructose free way of life, it is a Way of Life, not just a diet.
Don't onsess with the food & the scales, just resolve to 'just do it', and it will happen.  I found that cold turkey was the best, but some people find it too hard, and so do it slowly, over some weeks.
But, you have made that decision in your head, and that is the main thing. It's that easy, and that hard at the same time.   Just stick to your guns & let no-one sway you from it. Make some goals for yourself, a long term one & some short term ones, too. Reward yourself after each short term goal met,  but not with food!!
Good luck, Kathy, we are all here to help you, we want you to be slim & sexy again!!  lol....
    Bye for now

    Hi from Auckland,

I'm about to finish a HCG diet – down 20 KG, with 5 to go – and want to stay there. My first taste of David's work was the Richard Fidler interview: it was an 'aha' moment.

I knew I could lose the fat but keeping it off was another problem; I'm certain David has provided the information I need. My wife has very stable weight (slim) and naturally avoids sugar, except the really sneaky hidden kind but that's now changing too. I on the other hand went from 77 kg to 103 kg over about 20 years – slowly but surely, and now I know why. I've replaced low-fat thinking with ultra-low sugar thinking. Thanks David.

Welcome Greg, back from the dark side, terrific that you have found this just at the right time. It may take a little 'tweaking', but I'm sure you'll find your feet soon enough. and congrats for losing all that weight!  Great stuff, and I'm sure quite hard. So this should be a doddle for you!!  lol...
Let us know how you're getting on, maybe see you over on the Sweet Poison forum, too.
Lots of great people to help you on both forums, ask anything, we will try to help you.

Bye for now, and make sure you take your reading glasses when you go shopping, to read all those labels. he he

Okay so having made a few comments lately I had better introduce myself as well.  Pam, live in Queensland  a bit north of the SEQld car park!!!

Have been playing around with the high protein low carb diets for a few years with not much success, age against me I thought.

Sugar has gone for me and though the weight is not coming off much yet hope it will. Going to cut out the bread at breakfast and just have eggs, poached

Don't miss the soft drink, ice cream tastes like chemicals now and I can make my own with real cream if I want it

Keeping the fruit to my home grown strawberries.  Had a great treat the other day at Bangalow markets in northern NSW. A mango icy pole. Lovely, very refreshing, just mashed fruit put into a mold with a stick in it.

Keep the great ideas coming we all need to vary what we eat and this is the best way to let everyone know what works and what doesn't

Hi, You mentioned that you feel you have to do this by yourself. At the end of the day I find that we have to create our own path for whatever in life. I found that by just focusing on my own condition and doing what was necessary was the way to go. Also I found that you can try to convince some else till you are blue in the face, but the only way you convince anyone is to be role model with your own beliefs. If you want to be healthy, behave like you are healthy and you will be healthy........It is only so much about the food, it is more about how we think of ourselves and what we want to achieve. I was 130kg and everyday I just believed in what I was trying to achieve and that was to just be fit and healthy and that is where I am today a new person and I am 57 now and it has changed my life. Just the thought process is so powerful. You are the only person who will hold yourself back, it is not about will power it is about this is what I want to achieve, so I am going to plan for myself the best way of doing this and with what knowledge I can find along the way that suits me in my environment......then go from there. When I would have a bad feelings day, I would say to myself .....this day could be better but tomorrow is a new day when I wake up and so forth..........you are the most important person in your life and the work you achieve for yourself will help you help your children, husband and any others who will finally look at your achievement in a different way. Just live in every 24 hour block, because that is what you are in at the moment......this 24 hours......that is what you focus on.
