Hi to all on the forum . I am also new to FF. A friend at work loaned me the book and 'wow' what a great read,so intriguing. So here i am about 1 week into FF and not missing sugar , but was never a big sugar eater.
I need to lose about 10kgs so here i go . My husband has also joined me as he would like to lose that weight also. He has the small tummy happening (age 50) and is not happy with it . He is not a large man so feeling uncomfortably.
The forums are a great source of encouragement, along with great ideas for us newbees. The major item i have given up is Fruit juice. Always had to have fruit juice in AM , but now i just have the orange whole. That was the hardess so far.
Enjoy reading others peoples ideas and there situatiuon alomg the way .

Welcome, Joanne. I hope you and DH will find all you need to help you on your way.  Just ask questions, if you are not sure what to eat, or search the Net. I think this has changed my life, I've lost 16 kilos over a12 month period, with a little glitch after last Xmas, when I found I was eating too many carbs. I can eat rice (brown) ok, but bread, potatoes & pasta, well I have to limit those, as I just start putting on weight, if I eat too much.  You may find that happens to you. If you feel hungry, just eat a little more protein. I prefer to just have 3 meals a day, otherwise my blood sugar spikes throughout the day.  Then I stop losing weight.
At least, that's the theory. Read all about this on this link here:-

Good luck & maybe see you over at the Sweet Poison forum, lots more help there, too.

Hi there all the other newbies!

My husband & I are now beginning Week 4 of being fructose free. Funny thing happened in week 2 ... were up at Nambour QLD looking for a coffee shop... walked in, sat down, looked around and were amazed to find we were surrounded with lollies & chocolates! Lollies & lattes! We ordered cappuccinos /no  sugar and shared our hysterics with proprietor ... we were only customers at that mo, & she gave us several          non-  fructose chocs that she had imported from England. Nice... must head back up later & purchase a box. I have yet to research the sweetener used.
