A friend recommended David's book and I was looking for a lifestyle change rather than "another" diet. After one read I was very impressed by the amount of evidence that supports David's assertions. I have been very active all my life, with work and sport, but since sustaining a serious knee injury in 2007, the weight has piled on, and of course the usual medical problems high blood pressure. I needed something that was attainable, to get the weight down and keep it off and improve my health. I couldn't run countless miles anymore, play tennis, cricket, golf for days on end, so I needed something. Enter Sweet Poison. Have been going sugar free ( a social choice) , NOT DIETING , for 10 days now. Slowly educating the rest of the family and I have lost almost three kilos. Very happy, have not changed my exercise patterns, eat what I want , when I want except it is now sugar free. I have upped my fibre content. I think my taste buds are starting to agree as well. My only issue is the difficulty shopping. I am getting there and starting to learn the ropes. Thank you very much for all the forum users, there advice is Gold.

Have done and they are skeptical. Have now involved my best mates who could also lose a few kilos. Found a great video on youtube called Sugar: The Bitter truth here is the address. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM , its long but explains the science behind David's assertions, well worth watching.

Yes, that's a great video, by Prof Robert Lustig. I point all the skeptics I meet to it, including my (was) doctor.  Trouble is the establishment-dwellers get very defensive when their cages are rattled.  But don't give up . . . great oaks from little acorns grow etc etc :-)  Watch David's blog too (raisinhell.com).

Hey Colin.  I have been sugar free for 3 1/2 weeks and lost 9 kg so far, without ever being hungry, in fact, I'm not hungry for the first time in years.  I am trying to convince my family, they all lecture me about 'moderation', the main reason I am tracking my weight at all, is to make my point.  AND I'm saving a fortune, I spent as much on cakes as a smoker spends on cigarettes, I am sure.

Well done Christian, it seems the revolution is gaining momentum. Got a pleasant surprise today have started moving the belt in a notch. My wife is a dedicated Weight Watcher and she is spewing about me losing weight so quick. Thanks to all for the great recipe and food ideas, has made the menu at home very interesting. Even the kids love the food.
