ok so im going over the book again and looking at what kind of things you can eat when out - in a restaurant or a treat for the kids etc and its saying you can have McDonalds?

Fillet - o Fish, McChicken etc  down to the seared Chicken Deluxe and that if you want to be really good loose the sauce on those burgers?  So is that saying you can actually have the sauce on those top 7 burgers if you want?  Or you have to have them plain with no sauce/mayo at all?

My son is incredibly excited by the possibility of being able to have fries and nuggets as these are the only thing he usually has anyway minus the tub of sweet and sour sauce?

    Please clarify :)
    THanks

Mostly about 5% or less sugar; so OK now & again as long as you arfen't losing sleep over the fat content.

Everything at a fast food place is going to be cooked in vegetable oil, if it's fried.  The only diet drink will be Coke ( or water ) and my kids were never allowed Coke, Hannah until she was about 10, and Calvin still not b/c it messes him up ( he can't eat chocolate, either, without going feral ).  The bread is clearly going to have sugar in it.  For all that, if you want your kids to follow you on to this diet, they need to not feel like they are in prison.  I think there's a section in the book where David says, if the kids end up at a party and eat sugar, it won't kill them, and tomorrow is another day.  That's how I've always approached fast food - it's not really food, but the kids like it, and if they get it once in a while, it won't kill them, and it makes them feel they get a say, and to have their way from time to time.

occasionally for a now and then treat, definitely.  Party food is for parties and as long as your not having it every day.  Chips, nuggets are fine, cheeseburger although not the best is still another option, just keep the sugar for the rest of the day very low.  Steer clear of sauces and dessert.
