Downward Spiral?

    Hi All,
Went fructose free back in December, did marvellously for four months, took a vacation, kept off fructose but started on the wine! I've noticed since that my appetite is raging again, and I'm having sugar cravings - but not weakening.  Is wine the BAD thing that's unbalancing me? (I don't drink a lot, but three times a week) - Or has anyone else noticed that after six months or so, things start to level out? Last week I lost 3kg, I hadn't lost anything in the previous four weeks.

Sweet wine is loaded with fructose.

I've found the same thing ( not with wine, but in general ), if I find myself making an allowance once, it means going back through cravings.  And if I get cravings, I go back and work out how sugar has crept back in.  In this case, it's easy.  Wine is fruit juice.  dry wine is low in fructose, I *think*, but sweet wine is sweet because it's full of it.

I find that sometimes alcohol can put a stint in my weightloss.  I do agree with Christian, avoid the sweet wines, I do prefer very dry whites these days and reds.  I only have a glass or 2 usually weekends though at night while doing my show catch up from the week... the wine for me isn't too much of a problem it's the snacks that go with it.

Yeah I found the same thing.  I have put back on the 4kg I initially lost 2 months ago.  I only drink dry wine but I find I'm drinking a bottle at a time instead of a glass.  When I realised what was happening I changed to diet coke but that didn't help either.  I was also put on HRT which has made my belly fat bloat up big time so thats it.  Out with the coke, down the sink with the HRT and wine is being poured into those little airplane bottles before it goes in the fridge.  The rest can stay hot.  Sometimes I just gotta outsmart myself.  Needless to say once every month this all goes to hell in a handbasket and I'm ravenous for anything and everything but I get over that and pay the ferryman later.
