    Hi Miriam
I'm afraid I can't answer that, I don't notice any particular change in flavour, but I've been cooking with it for over a year now and maybe am used to it.
Maybe you need to try it out for yourself..........if you are anywhere near Caringbah.........Dijon Warehouse sells it for $5.00 for 500gms.

But maybe someone else can tell you.

    cheers
    Freda

Yes; it does have a mild coconut flavour. Which is good in some recipes, such as curries, but can be undesirable for other things such as bacon and eggs IMO.

Thanks Sue, I had a feeling this was the case. as i don't eat curries much. I will need to find another substance to cook with.

I cook with coconut oil when ever I can and find there are no adverse effects. I use it in soups, bacon and eggs and baking cakes etc (sugar free of course).

A company called Bio Medicals makes a TASTELESS coconut oil. Its cold pressed and organic and is excellent.  I find you can use it like butter and there is NO coconut taste at all. Its called
'Sip of Paradise'  I found it in a health food store in Qld.  Their email address  is info@bio-medicals.com and phone number 617 5575-9595
