Does anyone know if coconut sugar is ok to use (once you have done the initial stages of no sugar and are no longer "addicted").  It is sucrose, but has a really low GI and is ok for diabetics.

Coconut sugar consists primarily of sucrose, which in the Quit Plan book, sucrose is half glucose and half fructose.  So no go.

Ok, thanks...I kind of thought that...but just wondered if the low GI thing made a difference :-)

Fructose also has a low GI (which is why it gets recommended for diabetics) ... but it's still addictive.

It doesn't get recommended for diabetics any more. They finally woke up to the fact that it is POISON :-(
