    Just made my first dextrose cake.  Very yummy indeed.  Shared it with a chocoholic, who loved it.  I kept mum about the contents to see what he thought.  My cake came out very flat.  Still delicious, but I was wondering if it's meant to be quite low, or rise a bit more.  I did use the correct sized tin.  Thanks David and Lizzie for the fab recipe.  Greatly appreciated.

    I have made the carrot cake twice now and both times it did end up being very flat. More like a slice than a cake but as you say, very yummy especially with the philly cream frosting. Yummo !!!  :)
