    David-kindly tell us the Australian equivalent on this please.
    The avg american consumes 130 lbs of sugar per year with half of that being high fructose corn syrup.

    It's not rocket science . .  1 lb = 454  grams = 0.454 kg. 
    130 lb = 130 x 0.454 = 59.0 kg.  

    As a rough guide assume 2-1/4 pound per kilogram.

    Think 30 of those 2 kg paper bags of sugar you buy at the supermarket . .  per person of the entire population!!  Many would be eating far more to compensate for those who eat a lot less.
