    Hi David (and everyone),

Just wondering what your thoughts are on mesquite (pronounced 'meskeet'). I've had it explained to me as a "sugar replacement superfood powder", and a friend has begun sprinkling it on natural yoghurt to make it more palatable.

Does anyone know if it contains fructose? If not, what are its other uses?

Also, is there a search function for these threads? I looked at quite a few pages to make sure my question hadn't been answered, but can't be sure.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jo,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, it seems it is fructose, found this on the internet
"Researchers report that mesquite is highly effective in balancing blood sugar. The natural sweetness in the pods comes from fructose."

Also, I haven't managed to find a search for this site, a bit frustrating when you want to find something in particular.

After saying you could not search this site, I started to google, and found if you have google toolbar you can search a site, I did not want another toolbar. I use firefox, so downloaded the add on "site search" and I can now search this site. It opens the search results in the same window.
