I lost 4.5 kgs in the first 4 weeks of being fructose-free. Then for the past 6 weeks nothing. I have about 8-10kgs still to lose for my BMI to be at the top of the healthy range, and looking at me I could obviously lose more weight.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Hello Jennifer
I seem to remember David saying somewhere that to kick start weight loss again, he recommends trying a low carb diet for a few weeks. He said that keeping on a low carb diet for a long time is very hard because it gets boring having bacon and eggs for breakfast for too long.
So, maybe try a bit of Atkins for a while. You don't get hungry because it's quite high in fat and that makes you feel comfortably full.
And this has certainly worked for me when I stop losing weight and I agree it is disheartening when one starts off so well!
Whatever you do, though, don't start counting calories, that can make you obsess over food and also can make you feel hungry all the time.
    Good luck with it.
    cheers

    Thanks Freda

Yeah, I proabably have been eating quite a lot of bread, potatoes and pasta lately. I'll give it a go.

    Hi Jennifer

different things work for different people. I actually really like calorie counting.  I like the mathematical element, and I really like how it's educating me about how calorific things are and how much I eat compared to how much I should (portion size etc), so calorie counting really works for me.  I'm 6 weeks in and have lost 6 kgs.  Good luck with it all.

    Cheers

Jennifer, different things work for different people, you need to keep going and you need to tweak your lifestyle until you find what works for you.  I am currently doing low carb with a few other people, I eat low carb during the day but I eat a normal meal at night.  I'm also trying to watch my portion as well, I've found this week that if I watch the amount I eat I can lose weight quite rapidly.  When I was find out about low carb I had no idea what to eat and what not to eat.  I came across this http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/whattoeat/ig/Low-Carb-Food-Pyramid/ it give you an outline of what sort of foods are low in carbs and what is not.
