Can anyone tell me is light and creamy evaporated milk is okay.

Ingredients are skim milk, milk and vegetable gum(407). But there is 12.6gms of sugar. I know some of the sugar comes from the lactose but where does the rest come from.

I believe the sugar content is so high because the milk is concentrated, 60% of water removed.

Just as an update on this topic - does that mean it IS okay to use or it isn't? I've just started my sugar withdrawal yesterday (again) and it's good to know these things...

    thanks,

I would say it is ok, but remember it still has calories, but no fructose.
