Kylie, whether or not you eat an item with 3% sugar or fructose depends on what else you have eaten for the day. If you've only had protein and complex carbs (ie veges), you'd be fine with the food with the sugar/frucose. But if you've had cereal, and a sandwich with fruit only jam, and an apple, and some homemade dextrose biscuits, plus some sauce on a hot dog, that food with the 3% may not be a good idea after all. Your daily limit probably shouldn't exceed 10g fructose.
Weight loss may be delayed or stopped if you're consuming too many simple carbs. The other forum has a very interesting thread on leptin and its role in weight loss. Sugar free may be the starting point to weight loss and better health but it may well be our way of eating has stuffed up our bodies so much that we need to return to our cave dwelling ancestors diet to fix it.
