Hi Linda, have you read anything about Xylitol? Among other things, it's good for your teeth!!  A bit late for me, though, I'm currently sporting the bag lady look, waiting for my Govt upper dental plate...Goodness only knows when I'll get that. ......sigh.......How much longer will my DB call me 'gappy'!!  lol

Have you read the Sarah Wilson blog? She uses it, but then she can afford it. It's cheaper in bulk. I recently priced it on the Xclear Products site, came out at $18 odd for a 500 gram pack, (that is including the $8.00 postage & handling fee, or shipping fee, whatever).  The more you buy, the cheaper it gets. Apparently it tastes ok.

I'm using Natvia at the mo....it was developed with coffee in mind, it's quite dear, though. (It's Stevia) The Hermesetas brand of Stevia is outrageously expensive. I have spent a lot of time in the supermarket comparing prices & etc.

I only have it in my 5 times a week coffee and have cut back on the amount of coffee in the cup by half, as it's just too strong. I use 1/3rd milk, 2/3rds water. I boil the milk in the cup, then add the coffee, then the how water. Yummy, you get a nice froth on top.

But I, too am interested in anyone who has actually used it.

Great thread, Linda, let's hope someone has actually tasted it!!

    Hi there,

I have been using it for 3 months. I find it the best substitute for me in tea and coffee. I have tried the others but have settled firmly on xylitol.

I have now shed nearly 7 Kg in 3 months.

Well done, Brenton, that's a great outcome. Is that just from going fructose free, or have you being cutting back on your carbs as well? And exercise? doing any?
    Just interested.
Just watch out though, if you plateau a bit, then cut back a little on carb, (bread/potatoes/pasta for me) and try eating more protein. It worked for me. But then again, it may not work for you, but slowly is best, so keep it up.
I want to try the Xylitol, just can't afford it at the moment though, still got some Natvia, which I find is great in coffee. Had a coffee today, first one for almost 2 weeks. Have been having green tea. Don't need any sweeteners in green tea!!

    Good luck
