Tapioca Syrup?

I've been off sugar for 4 weeks and it's fantastic!  I had been on holiday and gained incredible amounts of weight, so the diet and exercise in the last month may have caused the weight loss, but I also had no withdrawal symptoms from sugar either, so I'm hoping it was because my system was in such turmoil it forgot about those!  The main things I can't believe is how I don't want sweet things any more, and how my appetite has shrunk - it's amazing how little I can eat and still feel 'full' - not exactly full but 'satiated' - I don't need anything else.
The trigger signal that I have inadvertently eaten something with sugar/fructose in it, is that I suddenly feel not full after eating and can continue to snack - it's really obvious and quite surprising.

Anyway my main question is: I am lactose intolerant so I have non-dairy whitener in my coffee.  The main ingredient is tapioca syrup.  I've no idea if this is good or not, so any information would be most helpful.  The 'low fat' version of this has more actual sugar in it, so I'm sticking to this version until I know if this stuff is good or not.
    Thanks

Congrats, Elizabeth, well done. It feels fantastic, doesn't it when it works?  I Googled Tapioca Syrup & found this site, link here:-

    http://hbmag.com/tapioca-syrup/

There's more info out there. One site states that some Tapioca syrup is produced to be 65 % fructose, (I think it was 65%)....but that most of it sold in the US isn't high fructose.

So I guess it's a 'your call' thing. The site I found the info on was tests done by a large Corporation, so may be 'skewed' in their direction.

I tried, but maybe someone else can help a bit more.

Shutting down for the night, Bye for now

    Hi Elizabeth,

Congratulations.  Have you tried using the lactose free milk (not really lactose free, but has lactase added to digest the lactose), or bath milk.  I have heard of children that can't drink normal milk, but can drink "real milk" as it has not had the lactase distroyed by pasteurisation.  Just a thought.  Can't remember what the lactose free milk name is, but it is sold at Woolworths.
