This isn't the usual one, but I've tried it and it's nice.  It's a "4 Ingredients" one.

    Ingredients

    2 large ripe bananas, mashed
3/4 cup dextrose                                                                                                                       1 cup whole egg mayonnaise
    2 cups self raising flour

    Method

    1. Preheat oven 180 degrees C.

    2. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.

    3. In a medium bowl, add bananas and dextrose and stir.

    4. Add mayonnaise, sifted flour then lightly mix, until just combined.

    5. Pour into tin and cook for 50-60 minutes or until a skewer, inserted into the middle, comes out clean.

    6. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then turn onto wire rack.

Don't be put off by the mayonnaise - this cake works.

Hey, Nadine, did you mean this one?

    SUGAR-FREE BANANA CAKE

    INGREDIENTS

    2 cups of wholemeal flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 tsp bicarb soda
    60g butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1/2 cup finely chopped dates
    4 ripe banana well mashed
    1/3 cup milk

    METHOD
    Preheat oven to 180C
Sift flour, baking powder and bicarb soda
Cream butter and egg using electric mixer, add 1 x tblsp sifted flour mixture, mix well
Stir in chopped dates and mashed banana's
Fold in remaining flour mixture alternatively with milk
Spread mixture into greased loaf tin (I also lined my tin with grease proof paper), and bake for 30mins.

Test with skewer, cook for further 5-10mins if skewer not clean.

    Additional Topping
I also added grated apple and a sprinkle of cinnamon to top cake mixture just prior to going into the oven which gave added moisture to the cake.

(My husband took sample of the cake to work next day, but did not mention that it was 'sugarless' - was apparently enjoyed by all and one guy who loves sweet stuff, had "three" slices!)

Hope that was the one, the only one I could find!!  Someone replied about the dates, I guess it's your call. Not sure if leaving them out would affect the liquidity or anything else. Maybe Janelle could help here.

Cheers, Nadine, & good luck, let us know how it turns out......

    Maybe try both......

thank ladies. I ended up finding the sugar free one and made it. It turned out really well. Didn't take long to cook. Have a friend staying who is not sugar free and he loved it.

Happy to have found this recipe too I love banana cake but have stopped making it because of the sugar content I will be trying this one.
Also Stevia is available sugar substitute healthy for you especially those people who need sugar in their tea and coffee use the same as nutra sweet etc Yuk Absolutely not ASPARTAME PRODUCT.
Can be bought from Health food shops and some supermarkets.
Please don't use margarine this stuff is dangerous and should be banned we are being fooled by massive advertising campaigns MARGARINE is the close to plastic starts out as black goop and then they add all the dyes and colorings preservatives etc google this and see. just use plain butter
NO canola oil  or veg oil. very bad for us.

    More recipes would be great
