I'm a huge fan of going to the cinemas, I've been too broke for the last couple of months to indulge, plus I'm been more focused on being healthy and, you know, life.

Chocolate is my weakness at the movies..... but what else can I eat?!

So basically, just clarifying that most/all chips/savoury snacks are generally low in the sugar department and I'm a-ok to eat it :-)

I think you might find most? of the flavoured savoury snacks still have sugar. plain won't of course.

you can still have chocolate, but buy an organic dark one. you may find you only eat small amounts :)

    Hello Tina

I have then same problem with going to the cinema, I have in the past always indulged in something choclaty.

If you are near Coles, they have a good mix of roasted salted nuts, I take some of these with me and they get me over craving the chocolate.

I have been sugar free for nine months and find that even after all this time, eating something flavoured with dextrose can make me crave sweetness, so I tend to be mostly a savory eater.

For my chocolate cravings at home, I have an organic cocoa with milk and no sweetener at all. The cocoa lifts my seratonin levels and that's very nice. the milk I use is goats milk as cows milk gives me sinus problems and the Lactose slight sweetness in the milk is all I need.

You will find, as go on, over time, without eating any sugar, that the need to eat it will leave your life.

    cheers Freda

Tina, popcorn is ok too, as long as it's just a plain popcorn.

    Just a thought....

Tina, I find it far more errr 'satisfying' to just watch the movie... it is only a couple of hours after all.

Thanks everyone! I have a lil movie date next week..... we shall see how I go.... fingers crossed

And Lisa- VERY true, chances are I wont be hungry cos it'll be just after dinner time and I've gotten into a pretty regular food routine. However the friend I'm going with was my kindred-sugar-addicted-spirit and we havent seen eachother since I've made these changes...... so I feel like I need something with me as a security blanket of sorts and as a buffer... no doubt she will stock up on all the "good" stuff that I LOVVEE(D). Wish me luck

I'm not 100% sure that I've gotten past my addiction 100% but I think I'm going to make the tv choc slice for my movie date :-)...... hope the dextrose doesn't send me into a relapse!

Just thought I'd update guys- I had a massive protein/fat packed dinner, had two squares of David's Choc Tv Slice and kept the MAGNUM ICECREAM my friend bought me out of the kindness of her heart in my pocket..... it is now in my freezer, woop woop, self control!

I don't think I'm past my addiction yet... my mouth still salivates at the thought of something chocolatey (even if it's dextrose), I can have some and not binge like before.
