Hi, not sure if anyone has posted going FF and pregnancy? Im in my early stages of pregnancy and a packet of biscuits in the cupboard keeps calling my name! I've already gone through almost a batch of David's biscuits from his quit book and worried about the amount of glucose and butter i've consumed (yes in a day!!)?  I was doing ok on FF for a few weeks. Has anyone gone through pregnancy FF? Any suggestions most appreciated! I put on more than 20kgs with my first and certainly dont want to put this back on this time around!

    Hi,
    Congratulations.
Don't forget that you will be consuming the same amount of calories eating the glucose biscuits, it is just the fructose you will have cut out.  It would be best to limit the biscuits to just a couple a day. Cutting out the fructose is supposed to stop the craving for sugary things.

Hi, Jo, yes I do remember someone last year was pregnant and doing low fructose. Suzanne is correct though, the dextrose treats are supposed to be just that, treats, not for the everyday.
Shop for your plan, make sure you have plenty things in your freezer, eat more protein, lean beef, and lamb, and chicken & eggs, cut out the processed deli meats, try to eat 'clean', lots of veggies, and now it's summer, salads, if you like salads, (I don't!)  Sure, bake your treats, but freeze them in individual servings, snack on nuts, almonds are ok, buy some organic cocoa, or cacao. for a sweet yummy milky drink. Cut back on simple carbs read through Mark's Daily Apple and Sarah Wilson's Blog for yummy healthy recipes for all meals and snacks, Sarah is Gluten free, and low fructose, she has some really yummy sounding recipes on her site.

You can make your own almond milk, almond meal almond butter, in fact any nuts can be made into nut butter etc. There is a great recipe for flax seed bread in Mark's Daily Apple, so you don't have to eat wheat. Make sure you've got some frozen veggies on hand, in case the fresh ones run down, so you can have a chicken breast with a heap of either salad or cooked veg, Fry the chicken in coconut oil with a little butter, when finished, add a little cream to the pan and swirl around for a lovely sauce.

I also grate a little hard cheddar over my veggies. All in all, a great lunch. Try not to eat between meals, have one piece of fruit after lunch, and the other after dinner. I always have my cocoa milky drink late at might, it helps me sleep. Use Calorie King to watch those calories, the evidence of people on here using CK is good.
I wish you well, Jo, keep us in the loop, we love to encourage people. The pregnant person may have been over on the Sweet Poison forum, so post your question there too.

    Bye

    Hi Jo,

Congrats! I am 14 weeks but am only 10 days in to FF. Feeling great and so glad I made the decision to stop poisoning myself but I have to say, I'm not sure I could have done it in the first 12 weeks. My sister thinks I'm crazy! I can't eat nuts because of an allergy but I have been having rice/corn cakes etc and vegemite toast for snacks because I have been hungry ALL the time - thankfully this is starting to stop so I think my appetite control is starting to kick in (I pretty much went cold turkey). I plan to try some of David's sweet recipes once I am at about 3-4 weeks free of sugar and I am really looking forward to that. Good luck for your pregnancy, you are definitely doing the right thing. You will have so much more energy once your little one arrives. I am having my second and have battled poor energy levels for 18 months, can't face the thought of feeling that way with 2!
