When you first go sugar free, while the withdrawal symptoms are going on, artificial sweeteners can help as an aid to get you over the first few weeks. Then, as the appetite control starts to kick in, you will find, not only will you stop craving sweet foods. but the taste of things will come through far better.

This will include the chemical taste of the artificial sweeteners. You will start to not want them. David himself used these as a help during his withdrawal days, I don't know about the drink you are describing as I have never drunk soft drinks. But David doesn't use any of them at all now.

He has put all these sweeteners on the "Your call" list in the Quit Plan. I am assuming you have read his books, if not, you do really need to read them, they put it all very clearly.
    cheers

    Hi L G

Since going fructose free, I only use a Xylitol chewing gum. I like to chew a piece of mint gum after my cuppa coffee and, as Xylitol is a natural sweetener with no fructose in it, it is perfect for me. I buy it online as it is cheaper than in health stores.

Good luck with your fructose free journey.
