We have been fructose-free for a couple of weeks. If I now start making treats sweetened with glucose only will it start sugar cravings all over again?

    Thanks

    Hi :-)

No, because the glucose won't mess up your appetite control.  The dextrose sweet recipes given in this site and the book all say they are less sweet than your old sweets, b/c your taste has changed to not like it as sweet.  I personally have dessert once a week ( mostly b/c my inlaws are struggling with the idea of a me who does not crave sugar and they enjoy sharing that with me ).  I also eat one chocolate on Sundays.  But, I have to say, I don't mind the taste, but I can take or leave it, and I usually am too full for breakfast on the Monday.  I suspect it's like anything - if you decide to go crazy with dextrose sweets, your weight lose results will be impacted, and if you really go after it, there's no doubt that normal sweets are also sweet, but, in theory, your appetite control should still help you not eat too much and reminding yourself of the effects of sugar should be enough to keep you from straying back to 'normal' sweets.
