So, getting rid of sugar was easy.  Vegetable oil, is harder.  I cannot find a bread that does not have any, has anyone else, or do I need to make it myself ?

Why do you want to get rid of vegetable oil? Which oils are you referring to?

Have you been reading  Big Fat Lies?  If so David is referring to polyunsaturated fats which include many seed oils - like sunflower, canola, peanut, cotton-seed, corn, soyabean and sunflower oils. [p225].

The problem is that they are widely used in the food industries - fast- and manufacturing-  And thye are not obliged to list polyunsaturated fats in the NIPs.  So avoidning them is a bit difficult. See Chapter 12 of BFL.

    I would think so:

Many of the questions asked here can be answered by Googling a few keywords.  This link is an a good example.

While it doesn't contain any fructose, it does contain a lot of polyunsaturated fats; especially the bad guy Omega-6. (see Big Fat Lies). According to David a healthy ratio of Omega-3 to -6 is 2 to 1.

    Rice Bran Oil
    Fat composition
    Saturated fats 25%
    Myristic: 0.6%
    Palmitic: 21.5%
    Stearic: 2.9%
    Unsaturated fats 75%
    Monounsaturated fats 38%
    Oleic acid 38%
    Polyunsaturated fats 37%
            Omega-3 fatty acids α-Linolenic: 2.2%
            Omega-6 fatty acids Linoleic: 34.4%

I have to get used to subscribing to threads, I just thought I'd get emailed automatically.

Yes, 'Big Fat Lies' was my starting point, and I meant seed oils.  I am aware that when a label says 'vegetable oil' it almost certainly means a bad one, if they used olive oil, they'd put it in big letters on the front :-)

I expect I'll start making bread, that's what I thought.

I recommend reading Sweet Poison Quit Plan and, if you want the "Biochemistry for Dummies" course, then read Sweet Poison.  SPQP is a great "how to" book.

Another excellent resource is the lecture by Dr Robert Lustig:  feature=watchhttp://www.youtube.com/user/UCtelevision?feature=watch
He explains the metabo;lism of fructose very well indeed.
